The First Meeting

The initial consultation

A first conversation, unhurried — a chance for us to meet and to think together about what has brought you here.

At a glance

  • Fifty minutes, online
  • £95, paid in advance of the session
  • No obligation to continue

A paid fifty-minute session, and a place to begin rather than a commitment to anything further.

There is nothing to prepare. We talk about what has brought you to therapy now, something of your history, and what you are hoping for. If it feels difficult to put into words, we can begin with whatever is there.

It is also a chance to ask anything you would like to know about how I work, and to notice how it feels to talk with me. Finding the right therapist matters.

Afterwards there is no obligation to continue. Some people know after the first meeting; others prefer a little time to reflect. If we do go on, we would usually agree a regular weekly time held for you.

Enquiries are answered personally, usually within two working days.
